MIG and stick welding

MIG and stick welding are both two of the most common arc welding processes.

With Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, a solid wire electrode is fed from a wire spool to a specialised gun. Shielding gas is then supplied from a tank of gas – this is also fed to the gun. Then, an arc is formed between the electrode wire and base metal. This allows you to MIG weld. With the wire consumed as it’s fed to the weld pool. Whereas, stick welding is a manual arc welding process that uses a consumable electrode covered in flux. The main difference between both is the electrode they use to create the arc and shielding gas.

We provide both MIG and stick welding for general fabrications and repairs. Both welding process are commonly provided at the client’s place of work.
